"Libertarians Don't Care about the Poor" Part 1

A common misconception about Libertarians is that they don't care for the poor and Libertarianism only benefits the rich and wealthy.

So I decided to write this article to tell you why that simply is not true .

To start off I will talk about one of the most common argument against Libertarians which is that if Social Security and Other Welfare Programs were cut the poor would suffer.

However people don't seem to realize that people did just fine before Social Security came along

and were allowed to keep a lot more of their earnings than they do today.

If anything in the long run Social Security has been more harmful than helpful because it takes from one group of people and gives it to another.

Now some people might say that we might as well accept this welfare state because if we try to dismantle it everyone will get mad at us everything will collapse and people will die in the streets.

That's simply not true because caring people will not let that happen, for example when Jacob Hornberger Lived in Laredo Texas his local hospital called mercy hospital helped care for people even if a majority of them could not pay. Another good example of voluntary charity is Jacob Hornberger's dentist in Virginia, his dentist talked about how him and other dentist were giving free dental care to the poor once a week. However that all changed when Medicare and Medicaid arrived. Healthcare costs began soaring and everything started to get bloated, even though the programs were meant to do good things it actually hurt more than it helped like social security.

If we were to get rid of Medicare and Medicaid today there would be people that would help the poor and needy and stop them from falling through the cracks.

Libertarianism helps the poor a lot more than Statism.
